A false news story, concluding that Sweden is shifting to a general six hour work day, was recently reported by large media outlets such as  CNN and the Huffington Post. The story dominated the news in Lithuania and stirred angry domestic debate. To set things straight, Karin Svanborg-Sjövall, CEO of Timbro, published an article in XX, contesting the story while arguing that high minimum wages and a heavily rationalized labor market in Sweden makes a general six hour work day unfeasible, not least in the public sector.
