Timbro Classical Liberal Reading Group

The Timbro classical liberal reading group is part of Timbro’s educational program and has been active since 2015. This December-January we will read Book I of Montaigne’s Essays, in English.

The recommended edition is the translation by Donald M. Frame:

In the US: Complete-Essays-Montaigne-Michel

In Sweden: The Complete Essays of Montaigne – Michel Eyquem Montaigne – Häftad (9780804704861) | Adlibris Timbro will provide copies of the book to participants in Sweden.

As is customary with this reading group, participants will include Björn
Hasselgren, Lotta Stern, and Dan Klein, with Klein principally leading the
discussion.

The sessions will be online only at the following Zoom link:
https://gmu.zoom.us/j/8170049489

(For those in Stockholm, however, Björn, Lotta, and Dan have mind to Zoom individually from the Timbro offices Kungsgatan 60, and directly afterward grab dinner together, and you are welcome to join. Keep in-person socializing alive!)

If you wish to participate, please send an email to Björn Hasselgren (bjorn.hasselgen@timbro.se) or to Dan Klein (dklein@gmu.edu) before 9 December 2026.
